Growing up, I was dog and pony mad and some of my earliest memories were of visiting neighbours who bred Labradors, and helping them out (probably getting in the way!) and then badgering my parents for a dog of my own.
That first puppy was Shep, a Border Collie cross, who grew up with me. Since then I have always had a Border Collie in my life whenever my lifestyle allowed. Currently, we have number five, Brodie at home (he is the handsome chap in the photo). We went to Puppy School together, which is how I found out about the organisation. I was so impressed that, a couple of years later after taking voluntary redundancy from my previous job in the Third Sector, and looking for something equally rewarding, I enrolled on the Puppy School Tutor training programme.
During that time, I also became actively involved as a speaker for Canine Partners, an amazing organisation that trains assistance dogs to help people with disabilities. Working with this wonderful charity and seeing at first hand what dogs and their owners can achieve together, helped to further inspire me to get involved in training puppies and their owners.
I love being able to pass on my canine knowledge to dog owners, to help them and their puppies to develop a fun, trusting and harmonious connection, using only the kind, reward-based methods endorsed by Puppy School. It's a great job, full of rewarding moments & laughs.
More recently, I became the Regional Manager for Kent.
I am an ABTC registered trainer.

I run my 'new puppy' classes throughout the year on Tuesday evenings at Ide Hill Village Hall, Sevenoaks and occasionally at other venues. My first class starts at 6.45 p.m. and the second at 8 p.m. I also run follow on courses for older puppies during the year. These are aimed primarily at older puppies and adolescent dog, but are open to any that have either been through Puppy School, or have achieved a similar level of training. Please enquire about these.
Other courses may also be run during the year and some may be run by my Associate Tutor Sally Brown at Ide Hill or other venues.
