I live in Gloucester with my husband and my adolescent hound, Rip. I’ve lived in Gloucester all of my life and from very early on showed a love for nature and all animals. Being born in the 1960’s, times were hard and simple and it was about family and being together. My nan who was housebound had a Labrador, Candy and I can remember holding her as a puppy and carrying her into my nans house for the very first time. From then we were going to be best friends and many a happy hour was whittled away playing with Candy in my nans garden, she was my best mate until 17 years later I carried her to the vets for the last time. Candy had a lasting impact on me. I joined the wonderful Puppy School in 2011 when I had my beautiful puppy and wanted to find somewhere that I could train her in a positive and kind way. We were devastated to lose her, way too early in 2022. During our 11 years together, we tried most dog sports and everything else in-between and it’s been an utterly fabulous experience. Had I not enrolled with Puppy School as a client with her, I’m not sure we’d have achieved the things we did together. I’m not sure I’d have fallen in love with all things dog training and grown such a huge passion for everything you can achieve with your dog, when you have the excellent foundations taught in Puppy School. The world really is your oyster and the Puppy School syllabus opens up a world of opportunity for you and the newest addition to join your family.
Deciding to welcome a dog into your family is always a really big decision and whether you are looking for companionship, a friend for your children, something to complete your family or a working dog, Puppy School offers all of the basic training to set you and your puppy up for a wonderful life together. Deciding to join a puppy class can be quite nerve wracking and take people out of their comfort zone. Some people may even be so anxious about it they decide against it all together. If this is you, please don’t worry, we promise you after week 1 those nerves and anxiety will dissipate and it will likely be something you look back on with warmth and pride. Puppy School Gloucester really prides itself on this aspect of puppy classes and ensuring that puppy and family are comfortable and flourishing. When we say ‘there isn’t much we haven’t seen’ we mean it, very little will surprise or shock us and with our wealth of experience, our genuine passion for the syllabus and our complete understanding of what its like to own a new puppy, we promise we will stand right by your side and love being part of your journey. You will be welcomed into our wonderful community for as long as you wish to be.
