Dogs have always been a part of my life. From the family dogs we had while I was growing up in North Wales to the dogs that have shared my life as an adult. It was during a 'between dogs' gap that I started volunteering for Dogs Trust in 2004 which is where I met Polly (in my profile pic). Polly had been in the kennels for seven months and, at just two years old, was looking for her third home. She had some issues which led me onto the path of learning about canine behaviour (just out of interest at the time!) and I enrolled on a Diploma in Canine Behaviour and Psychology. While I'm grateful that she's taught me so much, Polly's issues could have been avoided if only she had received early socialisation and training. Since losing Polly I spent three years as a puppy socialiser for an assistance dog organisation which was very fulfilling and also gave me lots recent puppy experience!
Redundancy gave me the push I needed to make a career with dogs and I began the extensive training to become a Puppy School tutor. I spent a year volunteering as assistant for another Puppy School tutor before qualifying in 2016. I am proud to be able to bring Puppy School back to the area where I grew up and offer my own classes. The learning never stops and continual professional development is something I keep up through courses, webinars and research.

Classes are held at Dyserth Community Hall, Cwm Road, Dyserth LL18 6BB on Wednesdays and Sundays and Paterson Hall, Horeb Chapel, High Street, Dyserth LL18 6AB on Tuesdays.
Puppy School courses available are Puppy School, Puppy School for Older Puppies and SuperPup. For those who would like continue training I offer the APDT Good Companion Awards
