About Karen

Having experienced first-hand the behavioural difficulties that can be encountered in dogs due to a lack of adequate early socialisation and training when we adopted our Westie Indi, I was inspired to study kind and effective reward based training methods, completing numerous courses with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and other renowned trainers and organisations. With this knowledge and a lot of patience, I successfully helped Indi to become the happy, confident, well-rounded little lad he now is.

This inspired me to help others in a similar situation. And even better, to help new puppy owners set themselves and their puppy up for a lifetime of success, to avoid challenging behaviours ever developing! And so I trained with Gwen Bailey to become qualified as a Puppy School Tutor!

Having undergone personal assessment processes ensuring I meet their high standards, ethics and force and fear-free philosophy, I am proud to have been accepted both as a Registered Animal Training Instructor with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) and also as a Member of the Pet Professional Network (PPN). I aim to keep up to date with the latest scientific research and ethical training methods. My first aid training for both humans and dogs is also kept up to date.

My ultimate goal is to help families build a beautiful relationship with their puppies and dogs, with patience, understanding, and kindness at the heart of everything they do together

Class Information

Pawprints Dog Training and Pet Care Services run classes at Tilgate Community Centre in Crawley and in Warnham Village Hall in Horsham. Both venues are accessible with parking available.

Our class sizes are kept small (a maximum of 6 puppies) to ensure quality coaching and high standards are maintained. It also means more individual attention can be provided where needed to support you and your puppy.

Sessions are interactive, fun and family friendly. Anyone who is going to be living with or actively involved in caring for your puppy is encouraged to come along to classes and learn together.

Classes available are:

Puppy School – for puppies under 20 weeks old

SuperPup – for older puppies who have had some basic training

Pawprints Trick Training – for any dogs and families who enjoy learning and having fun together

121 training and dog walking services are also available.
